change is in the air for this country

God help us, please.

I had deliberately avoided all media yesterday while votes were being cast.

I was sure that a brouhaha would be the upshot as the polls closed.

I was sure the American people, especially those who bought the "make America great again" rhetoric, would not elect a convicted criminal to the White House.

I was sure that a result would be impossible for at least a week.

I was wrong about that all of that.

Vice President Kamala Harris has conceded her loss, as I found out tonight.

After my return from the WNS of turkey tetrazzini, I tuned in to "PBS World News".

I watched as the better candidate told Americans that "It is not the time to wring our hands, it is the time to roll up our sleeves."

That action was not in preparation for a fight to claim the White House by force, as had followed the last Presidential election.

No.

We must roll up our sleeves to prepare for the 2028 election, when the newly-elected POTUS will have to step down and both of the major political parties will have to choose worthy candidates and do things differently than they did this time.

(sigh)

At least the political ads are over.

I'm glad no one at Asbury Memorial commented about it tonight, allowing all to enjoy a night, and a meal, shared in peace.
