What a most excellent idea to have gone out this evening!
And how marvelous that I could follow it up with something recorded and not yet viewed!
That way, I was able to enjoy two types of shows in only one place, then another two types of shows in another place.
The first was a holiday tableau with a choral and narrative assist, in the form of a short play within a movie.
What made that doubly cool for me was the fact that I knew it first as a play!
I speak, of course, of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever", viewed at NCG.
That photo is of the Herdman house, where six very poor kids live, six kids known far and wide as trouble-making bullies, six kids who...
ah...
Hahahahaha!
Got you good with that switcheroo, didn't I?
And such an excellent lead-in for the second round of fun for me tonight!
Consider the photo as a clue, with Zander and Emma dancing as they sing.
In case you've not guessed it was a college-age musical about coupling up and secrets.
That was in the form of a one-act play within a television show.
TA DAH!!!
Ever since catching the whole episode two years ago, I watch for it.
No more, as I have it recorded now, so I can watch James Marsters telling the Slayer to "Let Me Rest In Peace" whenever I want!
I'm thinking that last song and dance number, "Where Do We Go From Here", may be relevant in the upcoming post-election days.
As Giles sings, "The war is done, and we kind of won, so we sing our victory cheer."
Only, no one is smiling.
With all the vitriol splashed so liberally since summer started, everyone will just be worn out.
Here's hoping the vote will be decisive and no run-off will be involved.
Meanwhile, I'm going to watch this again for sweet Spike dreams...
the man is such a poet!
(smile!)
