housecleaning on social media

It seems that every time fb tells me I have "memories", I find they aren't just reminders of posts from the past.
There are plenty of nonsensical "memories" dredged up, too.

Back when facebook was new, it offered lots of games and encouraged the sharing of those results with your friends.
I played along, too, posting so all could see and join me in the game.
I have yet to have anything come forth from 2007, which is when I think I joined that social platform, but I have a lot that come up from 2009, like the one above.
That was from "Drinks On Me", which had all kinds of fanciful cocktails.
Of course, as fb no longer has that game, no photo comes up of the 'prize' I won.
Some days, I'll have as many as four of those "memories" pop up.
I delete every one of them.
Every last one.
I try to go on fb every day, just so I can remove those "memories" and keep them from ever popping up in my feed again.
Not that "Drinks On Me" was the only game.
I've also deleted plenty of "memories" of "Celebrate!" and "Collecting Hearts".
Lately, "memories" of a couple of seasonal games have come forth: "Holiday Gifts" as well as "Snowball Fight".
I've even had something called "Rock Bands" show up, though I cannot recall anything at all about that game.
Just crazy.
I dimly recall a game called "Mafia Wars" that I played on fb in the early days, and I was actually pretty good at it.
But I decided to give it up when I had some young men in Bangkok that wanted to "friend" me so I could play on their team.
Yeah, no thanks.
Anyway, I guess my reason for writing this is to encourage everyone to check out their "memories" on fb and to delete those no longer wanted.
Lord knows fb won't do that for you... not even for their own extinct games.
Now, I'm going to take advantage of the free Hallmark movies on Peacock - love having these for the holidays!

It wasn't "Mafia Wars".
The name of the game was "Gangster Battles", it was in 2008, and I just deleted a whopping FIVE posts about it from my "Memories" on facebook.
Geesh.
