as jonny lang would say... lie to me!!!

Hahaha!
That phrase always brings that singer to mind!
Love that song of his - such a nice rasp he has!
And so, just what brings all that up?
A fun time on fb, actually!
Here's my original post, plus all the responses from friends and family.
That's one way to keep warm on a crazy cold day!

"Here’s a test. If you’re reading this. LIE about how we met. Then put this on your wall so I can leave one, but then again no-one seems to follow directions!
Remember to LIE!"

Jim Casey
It was a windy, rainy night, but I wanted to go downtown anyway. I didn't have any fashionable rain gear. I looked like the Gorton's fisherman. I walked into the Warehouse on River Street. You looked at me, barely able to suppress your laughter, and sa… See more

Faustina Smith
Jim, yes, what a fabulous memory!!! hahahaha!!!

Katelyn Beneteau Rochon
We met one rainy Tuesday afternoon at a brothel run by nuns that only worked on the Sabbath

Faustina Smith

Katelyn Rochon
Faustina, how could I forget, I had my first dance there with a rubber chicken

Sue Kosokowsky
So the day we said Hello was at a blind folded potato sack race with the identical t-shirts saying "Coming in Hot" with Light saber stored in our cleavage.

Faustina Smith
Sue, I remember it well! We'd looked forever to find those purple Light sabers!!! hahahaha!!!
------------------------
Rhonda Curby
We met in a biker bar, complementing each other’s tattoos.

Faustina Smith
Rhonda, well, the visible ones, anyway!!! hahahaha!
---------------------------
Yvonne Pizzo Roach
We were stationed together in the Philippines.

Faustina Smith
Yvonne, yes, those days as Marines were just grand! hahaha!
-------------------------
D Scott Kimball
I met you working at Armstrong

Faustina Smith
Scott, that's right, we were both in charge of catching the feral cats and getting them spayed and neutered! hahaha!
----------------------
Fae Hill Kameron
We were children from the northern part of India, I was from Rajasthan and you were from Punjab. We are Romani Gypsy’s and met when our caravans were camping by a shimmering lake. Being mischievous, when we saw a glow in the nearby forest, we took a lamp and snuck away to investigate. We found a magical stone that took both of us to pick up. As we were holding the stone, it became very bright and disintegrated. It left each of us with a half moon and star emblazoned on our palms. Since then, we have been on many journeys and adventures. Friends for life.

Faustina Smith
Fae, oh, yes, those days as free as gypsy moths, flying free under full moons! hahaha!
-------------------------------
Christina Smith
I met you on a beach in puerto rico.

Faustina Smith
Christina, yes, we had been digging for clams for our dinner that day and we ended up combining our piles. What a feast! hahaha!
----------------------
Ivan G. Shreve Jr.
It was in Casablanca. I was in dicey health and I was there for the waters.

Faustina Smith
Ivan, that ended up being so much fun for us both, me basting you with those mineral spirits as the full moon shone. Play it again, kid! hahahaha!
-------------------------
Melinda McEwen
I met you at your brother's wedding in Hawaii

Faustina Smith
Melinda, that's right... his wedding to you! I had been overseas so we had not seen each other until that day in Oahu. You had oleander petals in your veil! hahaha!
------------------
Sara Thompson
We met at the top of the mountain - not the world’s tallest peak, but the tallest each of us had climbed. It was obvious I had to pee SO BADLY and you offered to be my lookout to make sure nobody saw. I had no idea how distracting international tourists in several languages could be done so artistically, but I sure was grateful. Though we summited as strangers, we descended as if we’d known each other a lifetime.

Faustina Smith
Sara, what a time we had! And several of the tourists met us on the downside and bought us Moscow mules all night! What a fun start to friendship! hahaha!

Sara Thompson
Faustina, to this day I have never had a better Moscow mule than that night!
----------------
Bill Cooper
We met when you were broke, again, and I lent you a substantial amount of $$$ which you promised to pay back on Jan. 8th, 2025..p.s. my wall is being repaired so I taped it to my fence....Happy New Year....BC & MaC

Faustina Smith
Bill, I will gladly pay you Wednesday for a hamburger today! hahaha!

Genie Brazzeal Lawson
On the Himalaya ride at the Coastal Empire Fair

Faustina Smith
Genie, that's right! We were so crazy on that thing that they had to change its name to the Matterhorn! hahaha!
-----------------------
Barbara Namkoong Gooby
We were part of the BEST space shuttle crew ever!

Faustina Smith
Barbara, I still say I can tumble more times than you can in the galley space! hahahaha!
---------------------
Jeff Powless
The Worldwide Wtches and Warlocks Supersale in Wales, 2004. You were browsing eye of newt. I'd just found a delightful poison Toads Tounge. Two "Tweenlocks" managed to set off a Demon Materialzation sparkler while playing with things they shouldn't touch. What a fun day!

Faustina Smith
Jeff, I do hope you still have that purple opal cauldron! I love the pink polka dots on the handle! hahaha!
------------------
Dave Hewitt
We met.

Faustina Smith
Dave, that's right, it's supposed to be on the down low. The walls have ears... hahahaha!
----------------------

That last one is especially funny... he and I have never met, nor even talked.
I know him only through Sam Johnson and The League of Savannah Bloggers.
After Sam died in 2009, I'd contacted Dave on fb to let him know.
He also likes the Goth Girl Day posts.
Sam had started those and I'd chimed in for 2010 in his stead.
I may need to do one of those this year.
Looking back, it seems that 2015 was the last time I mentioned her.
She was 18 then.
The time feels right for an update on that Goth Girl 'niece' of mine!
(smile!)
