Would it be the Running Chicken Nebula?
Or perhaps it was the Egg Nebula?
From us, the Egg is 3000 light years, while the Chicken is 6000 light years distant.
Who's to even say which was first?
Perhaps my favorite physicist could postulate on the question. He does, after all, teach astronomy, and has for years.
But to try to truthfully answer such a question, wouldn't the center of the universe need to first be determined?
Then, one could surmise that the one which came first is the one that is farthest out from that center, correct?
Since the universe is continually, albeit slowly, expanding, the space structure which is most distant would have have been first on the scene.
And though, from our perspective, it's nice to think that our tiny Solar System in the outer swirl of the Milky Way Galaxy is the center of the universe, that isn't the case.
Oh, the science to ponder during retirement!
