"Say what? She's only, like, 34 years old."
For sure! But I'm not talkin' 'bout her age, but that of Fort Pulaski.
"Oh, yeah. I remember seeing something about that on fb. Wasn't the Tybee Post Theater doing a talk or lecture on that topic?"
Indeed. That was scheduled for tonight, but I mixed up the time. Almost everything there starts at 7 PM or 8 PM, so, about 6:15 I checked to see which time it was. ACK!!! Start time was 6 PM!!! I gathered up my ticket and keys and drove off to Tybee Beach anyway.
"Dang, g'friend! You must have been speeding, 'cause it looks like you caught part of it."
Nope. What I caught was the Q & A portion, or at least part of it. Fortunately for me, that went on for twenty minutes or more.
"Well, that was part of it, still. And is that a female Park Ranger?"
Yeppers! Shannon Rowe was a fabulous speaker, too! Not only was she knowledgeable about history, geography, and environmental aspects, but she was quite entertaining. I do wish I had checked the time when I got home from my Tina Tuesday with the first niece! But, as you said, at least I caught part of the talk. I just wish I could have been there for the tie-in with Taylor Swifts' music. Shannon did play some of that while she was packing up.
"Wait... which songs pertained to the fort??"
I don't know. That's what I missed. The talk was titled "The ERAS Tour of Fort Pulaski - Celebrating 100 Years Of A National Monument", and the teaser on fb was along the lines of "come on out and hear what Taylor Swift shares with our Fort". I really would have liked to have found out what that was all about. I had very much enjoyed the concert movie and wondered which songs might have been germane to the fort's history.
"Perhaps her talk was recorded."
There's a thought! I'll look on youTube sometime for it. That would be sweet!
