weekend, weeknd, wknd

Well, it's time for the weekend again, and what do I have on the cabinet?

Just the dancing Elvis post-its, shaking their groove thing, among other body parts.

(smile!)

I imagine them as dancing to the song from Earth, Wind, & Fire... for sure!

Then again, maybe they're grooving to "Can't Feel My Face", a hot little number from a hot little number who will be 33 next month.

Perhaps the trio on the cupboard has some other tune about the Friday-Saturday-Sunday trio that caps off each week?

Perhaps even one that was played on a radio station named for week's end?

Whatever the reason for them moving in unison, I'm sure it isn't this Weather Song.

I'd tapped this from WJCL on Wednesday, because forewarned is forearmed.

That's why I made sure to get the laundry and bedding done that day.

Last weekend had been cold, too, as was Christmas weekend, so the weather has a most definite pattern going.

That's why I finished off the "Techie Trio" A*List on Thursday.

Robotics, advances in cinematography, and cloning.

"M3GAN" took care of the first topic, in the guise of a 1970's-era, made-for-TV, science fiction movie, with pretty good acting from the girl, suitable for audiences from tween up.

"Babylon" covered the time in the late 1920's and early 1930's when silent films gave way to "talkies", causing a drastic change in how movies were made. This one wants desperately to be a love poem to that era, complete with "City of Stars" - the love theme from "La La Land"- popping up to mark the romance between Manny and Nellie. Sadly, the middle two hours is the best part of the movie. The top half-hour and bottom half-hour are pure pornography, teeming with naked bodies in lewd positions and performing badly. (Hard to believe the same man wrote and directed both movies. Then again, he was 30 for the earlier one; he's a more jaded 36 now, and will soon be 37 on January 19.)

Cloning was touched upon in "The Devil Conspiracy", a movie I knew scant about and the only one I would consider seeing again. For the most part, it was about the Archangel Michael, who had defeated Lucifer and chained him in Hell. Michael gets called upon by a dying priest who utters a variation of the prayer to Saint Michael. Satan's minions have taken the Shroud of Turin and are using its ancient bloodstains to create a child that Lucifer can inhabit. Kudos to Joe Doyle for a job well-down as both the priest and the warrior angel!

Okay, I just texted Chelsea for her birthday! Please note the date and time of this post for a little joke from me to you!

Now, I'm going to work on getting the rest of the Christmas decor put away.

Not the tree, mind.

It, and its little purple lights, are hanging out for a while.

(smile!)
