farewell to a friend's wife

I'd bounced onto fb to wish happy birthday to two friends, Michelle Davidson and John Denion, both 62 years old today, both born the same year Ronnie was, who would have matched them at that age come Saturday, had death not taken him first.

Then I saw the post from Joe Buttner: his dear Lois died on July 1st.

I have not seen either of him since the wedding reception of another friend.

I know Lois has been ill for the last decade.

She had stayed in New Jersey after Joe moved here for work at Gulfstream.

Joe and I were regular volunteers around Savannah for years, serving together at the Lucas, at the Trustees, at the Savannah Music Festivals.

He is the owner of the "Singing In The Rain" poster I won, too.

Now, he is alone, and may well move to be with one of their grown sons.

I've been to Kiva and found a way to honor her memory.

My prayers for solace for you, Joe.

There will be no service at this time. We hope to do a memorial service sometime in the future (Thinking about her birthday)
Donations in lieu of flowers could be made to:
Hospice Savannah
Ranch Hope, Alloway, NJ
Feeding America

On what would have been her 73rd birthday, her memorial service was held.
I found out after the fact, from Carolyn.
She had missed the service and called to see If I had gone.
Seems like the Buttner kids were the ones that sent the invites.
No worries... but I would have liked to have been there.
